INTERVIEW
Q. What is the school's educational policy, philosophy and style?
Kibougaoka High School has two axes, an integrated department and an automobile department. It was established as "Kyushu Electronical Institution High School" in 1968. By changing the school name to "Kibougaoka High School" in 1998, a unique curriculum was introduced that included the merit as an industrial high school and a school for everyone.
The school has an environment that allows students to achieve their goals by themselves. It's not just about studying, but also club activities and practical skills are acquired in fields. Through challenging students, we provide guidance and raise each student's self-esteem. We motivate our students to focus their efforts without giving up on their own, with confidence to hopefully become a proud student with the feeling that you can do it yourself.
Q. Why did you decide to change the school uniform?
The fact that the students commented that the uniform was "out of fashion" triggered the decision to renew the uniform. Teachers are always trying to listen to students' stories, and many students come to school to found their hopes and fulfil their dreams. In the process, the students get attached to the school and probably think it would be nice to improve the nature of the school.
The students told me that it was necessary to change the uniforms and improve the image of the school to make it all better, and I think that faculty and staff had this same feeling too. I was involved in the making of these uniforms, from the point where the students choose some designs and materials, and that way we were able to make outfits full of the student thoughts and ideas.
COMMENT from DESIGNER
Comment from the designer
The combination of the white shirt with the navy-blue jacket creates an impressive blazer style. Designing the uniform along with the students resulted in a pretty uniform for girls and a cool one for boys. The embroidery on the chest of the jacket is an original design of O.C.S.D., and it accents the whole layout.
